ADSL (Broadband) Internet Set-Up (cabled or wireless)

There are now more broadband subscribers than dialup in the UK. Join the speed revolution and get on to the Internet via Broadband with our great value connection service.

This service includes the following:

Recommendation on choice of ISP (Internet Service Provider)
Purchase of suitable ADSL Modem and Line Filter(s) - now usually free from your provider
Installation and configuration of ADSL Modem and Line Filter(s)
Install and configure wireless connection (if applicable)
Email account set-up - Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird or Windows Mail etc.
Test Internet connection
Test email account (make sure email can be sent and received)
Overview of new connection details explained to client
2 weeks free follow-up support available following installation (call with any questions you may have for just the cost of your local landline phone call).

From initial instructions to proceed you can be on broadband in as little as a week, (subject to phone line meeting the necessary ADSL requirements and a timely BT line activation!).

Virus & Spyware Removal

This service will provide for the removal of suspect virus or spyware on your PC and will usually be completed offsite. The service will comprise of the following:

Collection of your PC
Backup of your data (if not already completed)
Intensive virus and spyware cleanup
Preparation of fresh system restore point
Return of your PC
Demonstration of virus and spyware free PC (this is usually immediately apparent from the absence of whatever problem was present prior to the cleanup)
Virus and spyware prevention recommendations given.

Note:

If the virus / Spyware infestation is severe and has rendered the PC unusable it may be necessary to completely rebuild the machine to properly recover it. In such cases we would usually identify this at the evaluation stage.

Price: £35.00 to £70.00 (depending on the severity of the infection).

Internet Security Package

Be safe and secure on the web. This package includes the following:

Installation, configuration and guidance on use of free Anti-Virus software
Installation, configuration and guidance on use of free Anti-Spyware software
Installation, configuration and guidance on use of free FireWall software
Advice on Internet 'Do's' and Don'ts' whilst surfing the web (spoof emails, phishing etc.)
Checking and configuration (if required) of Internet Security settings)
2 weeks free follow-up support available following installation (call with any questions you may have for just the cost of your local landline phone call).

Note:

This package also allows for the substitution of paid software applications (i.e. Trend, Kaspersky, Norton etc.) to replace the above (software supplied by customer or ADG Computer Solutions).

Safe Surfing for Children

Be comfortable in the knowledge that you have a reliable child protection solution in place for your Internet surfing.

Our package involves the installation of specialist filtering software (CyberPatrol) and the well respected OpenDNS solution (currently free) on to your PC to protect your family whilst surfing and includes:

Installation, configuration and guidance on use of a highly respected software application
Installation and configuration OpenDNS on to your Router / PC
Installation, configuration and guidance on use of an email protection package
Advice on Internet 'Do's' and 'Don'ts whilst surfing the web

PC Healthcheck / Cleanup

Get an exhaustive health check and cleanup for your PC. This popular service will include:

Registry backup (prior to any changes made)
Recovery disk preparation / Create system restore point
Hard disk analysis (degree of fragmentation, space remaining, partition check)
Conduct defrag if necessary
Virus and Spyware check (are there any and is existing protection software up to date?)
Remove viruses and Spyware if found
Desktop cleanup
Registry cleanup
Temporary files cleanup
Internet temporary files cleanup
Remove redundant software to reclaim space and speed up PC (with client approval)
General speed of operation check
XP / Vista / Windows 7 patch check
FireWall check
Recovery disk preparation / create post cleanup system restore point

Before health check, client must backup their data first. We can also do this for you for a small charge.

Computer Re-Build

If you've noticed a gradual decline in the performance of your PC and need to speed it up or need to securely remove sensitive but no longer required data then a complete rebuild is what's required. You may have a PC rendered unusable due to viruses and spyware and have decided or have been advised that a fresh rebuild is the best way forward.

Certainly over time, the addition and removal of various new programs, the build up of redundant data, leftovers from uninstallations etc., can all have a detrimental effect on the performance of your computer. This slow down is often very gradual until you realise your PC is not what it once was. It may be possible to restore some of it's lost agility through application of our PC Health Check / Cleanup. However, a rebuild will guarantee a return to full speed.

We will completely re-install your Windows based operating system (all Windows versions) and all of your current software applications (per your instructions).

OEM Factory Settings Rebuild

Backup customer data
Rebuild with supplied OEM Factory Settings Restore CD(s). This is to reinstall the operating system only, together with any other applications that are included on the restore CD(s)
Virus and Spyware scan of client data
Restore customer data to new build.

Note:

This rebuild does not allow for re-installation of any additional applications installed by the client after purchase of their PC. However, for a small extra charge we would be happy to complete this for you.

Non-OEM Rebuild From Scratch

Backup customer data
Rebuild including re-partitioning, HDD low level format (complete data erase), install of chosen Windows based operating system
Virus and Spyware scan of client data
Restore customer data to new build.

Note: This rebuild does not allow for re-installation of any additional applications installed by the client after purchase of their PC. However, for a small extra charge we would be happy to complete this for you.

Price: £85.00.

Windows 7 Upgrade

Upgrade your PC to the very latest operating system, Windows 7. We can install any version required. Get the security benefits that this operating system can provide, especially for surfing the Internet.

Our service would comprise of the following steps:

Evaluate PC for upgrade suitability (this would be carried out prior to agreeing the upgrade)
Backup of your data to offline medium (e.g. DVD)
Update BIOS if required
Check for driver updates
Check for software updates
Upgrade to Windows 7
Check system operation and ancillary equipment (i.e. printer etc.)
Configure Windows 7 to client requirements (i.e. setup user accounts etc.)
Demonstrate new operating system.

Price: £75.00 (excludes the cost of Windows 7 software if required).

PC Troubleshooting

This service includes troubleshooting any PC related issue and will consist of an initial review by phone to assess the problem and a time estimate given. Before any recommendations are made, payment terms will be stated and agreed. On customer agreement to proceed, a solution will then be found and given either over the phone (remote support) or via a site visit.

NOTE: Most problems are usually resolved in an hour, unless a hardware faulty is present.

Price: £35.00 per hour for on-site support.

Price: £25.00 per hour for remote support (with your permission we would take control of your computer during a secure session and fix from our office.
